The Trials of SEO are one of the Ascendancy Trials in Path of Exile 2. Compared to the Chaos Trials, they take significantly longer to complete. However, unlike Chaos Trials—where you need to insert a fragment before fighting the Pinnacle boss—you can walk straight in and face Zarok without any additional requirements. Depending on how you look at it, this makes them shorter in a way. But in terms of runtime, they are inherently longer.
So, why should we endure another round of madness for nearly 19 hours? The answer, Exile, is The Last Flame.
The Last Flame – The Ultimate Chase Unique
For those unfamiliar, The Last Flame allows Zarok to drop the Temporales Unique Chest, currently one of the most sought-after uniques in PoE 2. As of this recording, it sells for around 420 Divines—a massive payout.
Of course, many players argue that obtaining this item requires hundreds of runs or that it’s a myth altogether. But even if The Last Flame remains elusive, there are plenty of other ways to make POE 2 Currency in the Trials of SEO.
Making Money in the Trials of SEO
Even if you don’t get The Last Flame, these trials offer some of the most profitable currency-making opportunities in PoE 2. Here’s what makes them so lucrative:
1. Relic Drops
One of the primary money-makers in these trials is relic farming. The right relic setup (which I’ll discuss later) allows them to drop like hotcakes, quickly filling up your stash. Some relics sell for a healthy amount of Divines.
Key Relics to Look Out For:
·Ear Relics
·Seal Relics
·Anforas
·Tapestry (situationally worth it)
Relics to Ignore:
·Incense Relics (except for The Last Flame, of course)
·Vase Relics
·Coffer Relics
I highly recommend customizing your item filter to highlight these valuable relics for easier access.
2. Desperate Alliance Vase Relic
Another valuable relic from Zarok is the Desperate Alliance Vase Relic. This relic enables players to farm the Against the Darkness Jewel, which currently sells for three Divine Orbs per unit. Unlike The Last Flame, this relic drops more consistently, making it a reliable source of income.
Other relics from Zarok don’t hold much value, as they usually go for one Exalt per relic, which isn’t worth the effort.
3. Jewels in Bulk
Trials of SEO are also an excellent way to farm high-quality jewels. Throughout my 50 runs, I found several incredibly profitable jewels that could either be:
·Crafted further for better rolls
·Sold as is for a quick profit
4. Zarok’s Treasure Room
After defeating Zarok, you’ll enter a treasure room packed with chests. These require keys obtained during the trial. To maximize profits, prioritize opening:
·High-value jewel chests
·Relic-heavy chests
·Currency-based chests
The Best Build for Running Trials of SEO
Your build significantly impacts your experience in the Trials of SEO. Speed and survivability are crucial. Currently, the fastest builds for these runs are:
·Temporales Builds
·Queen of the Forest Builds
For my runs, I used a Poisonous Concoction Pathfinder inspired by Per Flo. His build was already solid, but I made some adjustments to optimize it for the Trials of SEO.
Key Changes to Improve Run Speed:
1. Implemented Queen of the Forest
o Stacked high evasion rating to boost movement speed
o Reduced run times from 35 minutes to 22 minutes
2. Stacked Bonus Defenses
o Using Relic stacking and Boons within the trial, I achieved 200%+ movement speed
Why Poisonous Concoction?
·Negates many negative afflictions inside the trial
·Consistent damage output
·Smooth gameplay experience
Additionally, I stacked over 100% increased Rarity. While this doesn’t affect Zarok’s drops or chests, it does improve general monster loot, making it a nice bonus but not a necessity.
Blink + Frost Wall – The Secret Tech for Speedrunning
If you’re serious about farming these trials, you must integrate Blink and Frost Wall into your build. This combo allows you to:
·Skip gauntlet rooms in seconds
·Dramatically reduce run times
To enhance this setup, I used:
·A random wand + Crest of the Ura unique shield in my weapon swap
·Ingenuity + Second Wind to support Blink
The Best Relic Setup for Trials of SEO
My strategy focused on Relic hunting, prioritizing:
1. Increased Quantity of Relics Dropped
2. Increased Defenses for Evasion Stacking
Recommended Relics:
Anforas Relics (x2)
·Merchant has +2 additional choices (or +3 if you can afford it)
·High Honor Resistance (to cap at 75%)
Enora Relics (x2)
·Merchants have +4 to +6 additional choices
·Boosts speed of getting the desired Boons
Seal & Ear Relics (x4)
·Must-have modifiers:
o +20% Increased Quantity of Relics Dropped by Monsters
o +High Increased Defenses (for evasion stacking)
With perfect rolls, you’ll achieve 120% increased relic quantity, further boosted to 150%+ with the Enchanted Ear Boon. This significantly increases the drop rate of unique relics, making The Last Flame more attainable.
General Strategy Inside the Trials
·Floors 1 & 2:
o Prioritize Sacred Water
o Grab as many Merchants as possible to get the needed Boons
·Mid to Late Run:
o Focus on avoiding bad afflictions
o Maximize profit from relics & jewels
o Skip unnecessary gauntlet rooms with Blink + Frost Wall
Final Verdict – Are Trials of SEO Worth It?
After 50 runs and 19 hours, here’s my conclusion:
·YES, they are worth it!
·Even without The Last Flame, relics and jewels generate massive profits
·Faster builds = More runs per hour = More profit
·The Blink + Frost Wall trick drastically improves efficiency
Unless something even juicier appears in the future, this might be my go-to Path of Exile 2 Currency farming method for upcoming leagues.
